Salzburg, Austria - FC Red Bull Salzburg secured a narrow 1-0 victory over GNK Dinamo Zagreb in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League playoff tie on Tuesday. The Austrian Football Bundesliga leaders took a slender advantage heading into the second leg in Croatia next week.

The match started with both teams looking to impose their style of play. The Croatian side came close to taking the lead in the 25th minute when Mislav Oršić's shot from the edge of the box cannoned off the crossbar.

Salzburg gradually grew into the game and began to create more chances. Noah Okafor had a great opportunity to put the hosts ahead in the 35th minute, but his header from close range went wide. The Austrian champions continued to press for the opener and were rewarded in the 45th minute. Zlatko Junuzović played a delightful through ball to Benjamin Šeško, who coolly slotted the ball past Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Dominik Livaković.

The second half was a more even affair, with both teams having chances to score.
