SpaceX Starship Integrated Flight Test 4 (IFT-4) Lifts Off
Successful Takeoff and Flight
SpaceX conducted the fourth integrated flight test (IFT-4) of its Starship launch vehicle on June 6, 2024. The highly anticipated test flight marked a significant milestone in SpaceX's effort to bring Starship to operational readiness.
Test Flight Highlights
IFT-4 lifted off from SpaceX's Boca Chica test site in Texas at 7:50 am Central time. The Super Heavy booster and Starship upper stage worked in unison, successfully achieving a controlled landing back on the launch pad.
During the flight, Starship reached an altitude of approximately 40 kilometers (25 miles) and traveled downrange for a distance of 60 kilometers (37 miles).
